Gather Your Bones

I’m not only an editor; I’m a writer, too!

I began writing almost immediately after I learned how to make my fingers form letters. I still remember pieces of my first short story, which I wrote in the fourth grade. It was about the Easter Bunny and the man he granted wishes to. I also remember my first poem, written when I was about eleven years old. I titled it, “I Am Not a Drag.”

Sadly, I don’t have either of these pieces. They were lost to the ravages of time. Or to the garbage pit that was, at one point, my bedroom.

Though I may not be a drag, my writing certainly was! I can at least be confident I’ve improved since then. Still, I think back to those early days with fondness. I’m so glad my mother instilled in me a love for the written word. I don’t know who I would be without it.

On this page is a small selection of my writing. Here you will find poetry, snippets of my short stories, maybe even one or two novel teasers. Please, enjoy! And of course, I’d be happy to hear your thoughts.
